Kendall Jenner reveals must-have mascara as she takes on global beauty role

Kendall Jenner is taking on a new role in the beauty world. The model and second-youngest sister in the Kardashian-Jenner family has been announced as the newest face of L’Oréal Paris.

Eschewing the beauty approach taken by her sisters Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian, instead of creating her own makeup or skincare brand, Jenner will join the likes of Kate Winslet, Helen Mirren, Eva Longoria, Andie MacDowell and Jane Fonda as one of L’Oréal Paris’ Global Ambassadors.

The announcement comes as the star hinted at the role by having her makeup done exclusively with L’Oreal Paris products for her turn at New York’s iconic Met Gala in May.

As her new undertaking was revealed, 27-year-old Jenner said L’Oreal has been long been part of her core beauty memories.

“My first memory of L’Oréal Paris is playing around with my mom’s makeup and seeing L’Oréal Paris lipsticks in her makeup bag, she told Harper’s Bazaar. “I also remember the L’Oréal Paris kids shampoo that was shaped like a fish.”

As for more recent favourites, the star, who has been modelling since she was 13, says she loves the brand’s fresh, glowy makeup bases like L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 Hour Fresh Wear Foundation and revealed her must-have product is one of L’Oreal’s long-standing hits.

“My favorite mascara from the brand is the L’Oréal Paris Original Telescopic Mascara—I’m obsessed with how it makes my lashes look.”

In a statement from the brand Jenner said having the opportunity to embody everything the brand stands for feels like a “true full-circle moment.”

“I’m honored to be part of a new sisterhood of strong, powerful women and to be able to say those iconic words, I’m worth it.”

Délphine Viguier-Hovasse, global brand president of L’Oréal Paris, called Jenner ‘one of the most powerful women in the world’ and said she was proud to have the top model join the brand.

“It’s a new high in our mission to empower every woman, everywhere, said Viguier-Hovasse.

“At any other time, Kendall Jenner might have been as successful as she is now, but her worth and her choices and her image might have been defined or even controlled by others. But nobody defines Kendall Jenner but Kendall Jenner. She is the embodiment of everything Gen-Z stands for, owning her image, proudly growing in her self-worth, and inspiring others to do the same.”

This isn’t Jenner’s first foray into beauty. She’s fronted numerous fragrance campaigns, and was the face of Estée Lauder for several years from 2014.

Jenner will been seen leading L’Oréal Paris makeup campaigns starting in September 2023.
