Model Bella Hadid launches oil-based perfumes that ‘amplify your aura’
Model Bella Hadid has stepped into the beauty world, creating her own perfume line named Ôrebella.

Hadid has taken a break from the modelling world of late, after 10 years of back-to-back fashion seasons and campaign shoots, often alongside sister Gigi. In that time she has addressed her own mental health struggles, and her battle with Lyme disease.

The 27-year-old also spent the time with new boyfriend, rodeo star Adan Banuelos as well as on her family farm, where she began dabbling in scent creation. The result is a line of skin-care-based fragrance made without alcohol, which is traditionally used in perfumery but can be drying to skin.

Ôrebella, pronounced aura-bella has launched with three perfumes, each with a bi-phase formula of aromatherapy essential oils and responsibly-sourced fine fragrance notes, in an oil blend base that includes snow mushroom extract. The perfume is shaken to mix before applying.

The release is in line with the increased popularity for mood-boosting perfumes and body sprays, and Hadid says the scents are designed to “amplify the wearer’s aura”.

Ôrebella’s Salted Muse, Blooming Fire and Window2Soul.

Window2Soul is a rose and jasmine bouquet with accents of fresh lemon and soft and sweet tonka bean.

Salted Muse is a fresh sea salt and pink pepper scent, with olive tree accord and lavender at the heart, and a base of woods and amber.

Blooming Fire is radiant and bright, with Tahitian monoi flower, bergamot and patchouli.

“I never thought I’d put out a product,” Hadid told Glamour, but says the time away from the fashion world sparked her interest in doing something different.

“We already make a lot of lavender oil on our farm, and I would get glycerin and different weird essential oils from our little health food store,”she says.

“I would make things, and they would smell really unique. If I wanted to add a little spiciness, I would add ginger and peppercorn, then I would add a little bit of lemon. Then all of a sudden I’m deep into this whole cycle of making all of these really interesting scents.”

After receiving complements on her home-made scents she decided to pursue a commercial release.

The perfumes are relatively accessibly prices at US$35, US$72 and US$100 for 10-, 50- and 100-ml, respectively and are available through the brand’s website and at Ulta Beauty in the US.
