• For women with silver hair, mix a silver toner with champagne to add a beige blonde tone to the hair.
• If you’ve coloured your hair with a semi-permanent, and after a few washes want to return to your original base colour, mix an anti-dandruff shampoo with some bicarbonate of soda and cleanse the hair with it. This also works well as a deep cleanse when you’ve styled your hair with a lot of hairspray.
• If you’re using a silver toner on a pre-lightened hair that’s porous and grabby of colour, mix the toner with conditioner to dilute it and tone down the end result.
• Schwarzkopf Live Colour Ultra Brights is a range of semi-permanent colours that last up to eight washes, and are almost like a conditioner with a bit of colour added, $8.99.
