That’s according to Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris, where the looped accessory, recently seen in bow jewellery, and adorning clothes and lingerie, was again used to adorn hair dos.
It’s a continuation of the ‘coquette’ fashion and makeup trend, a demure, soft, hyper-feminine style which often references the Victorian Regency era.
Reaffirming that hair bows are going absolutely nowhere was the Chanel show. The storied French brand said the collection was inspired by the world of ballet and dance and fittingly the collection, led by creative director Virginie Viard, was full of light, pretty and pastel elements. Models topped off each outfit with hair worn half-up with a large bow at the back of the head, or adorning a low ponytail.
At Dior too, models wore fine black ribbons around their heads that tied in, what else, a bow at the back of the head amongst a braided chignon.
Fluffy, voluminous and dramatic lashes were the beauty focus at Giambatista Valli, but again, an oversized hair bow finished the slicked back look, anchored at the top of models heads.
Each outing served to prove no only is the bow not going anywhere, but it can be worn by anyone.
