There’s a deep collective aching
And I feel it in my bones
A fresh paint-coat of grief
That everyone brought home
And it’s in these heavy moments
I’ve searched for some relief
Last week I finally found it
In the humble autumn leaf
In the crisp and icy wind
That whipped around my ears
Bracing and beguiling,
It took away my fears
The gentle dappled sunlight
Peaked through shedding trees
My heart glowed like a beacon
At the sight of evergreens
I left my grief to rest
Beside a sleepy Bay
Grateful for how nature
Brought back my joy that day
