British actress Helena Bonham Carter once met the real-life Princess Margaret, whom she’ll play in the upcoming third season of ‘The Crown’.
But her royal welcome was far from comfortable.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Bonham Carter said she found the meeting “scary”.
Her uncle is a close friend of Princess Margaret’s, and she recalls being introduced to her at a function at Windsor Castle.
But instead of being made to feel part of the family, Bonham Carter suggested the encounter was anything but cordial.
“She said, ‘You are getting better, aren’t you?’” Bonham Carter told Entertainment Weekly, presumably in relation to her acting career.
Well, that’s royally awkward.
Bonham Carter takes over from Vanessa as Princess Margaret, with the new season set to drop on November 17.
Her husband Lord Snowdown will be played by Ben Daniels in a fully refreshed cast that also sees Olivia Colman take the lead role as Queen Elizabeth II from Claire Foy.

The happy couple?
Margaret and Snowdown endured a tumultuous and ultimately doomed relationship.
Daniels told Entertainment Weekly, “[they were] completely addicted to each other. Even right up until the minute they were getting divorced, they still had a really strong physical relationship.
“People often said that it was like foreplay for them, having a big row. They would have these huge rows and then amazing sex.”
The third season of The Crown will span the years 1960s and 70s, with much of the focus on Margaret and Snowdon’s ill-fated romance.
The scandal surrounding Anthony Blunt – the Queen’s art adviser and distant cousin, who turned out to be a Russian spy – will also feature in the latest series of the Emmy-award winning show.
