Tome, the label started by two Sydney-siders, Ramon Martin and Ryan Lobo, in New York City makes clothes that grown up women dream of. You know, crisp shirting with a twist, languid trench coats, entirely forgiving culottes. Materials were poplin and silk, the colour palette muted in white, blue and peach. This season they were inspired by poet Sylvia Plath, which allowed them to play with a dash of 50s style in lace and pleating.

The label made its Australian catwalk debut at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia this week and the word among the fashion set was that it was very, very good indeed.
