People thought they heard gunfire, but it was confirmed to be a false alarm with nervous Parisians reacting to the sound of fireworks – reported to be a prank.

Live news broadcast shows dozens of people running away from the scene in terror as people reported hearing shooting.

This comes as the world reacts to the events in Paris on November 13 which saw 132 killed and more than 300 injured.
