Over the past few days, thousands of tributes have been made by Sydney-siders to the victims of the Lindt Chocolate Cafe siege in Martin Place.
Among them is personal note left by a little girl.
“I love you mum,” read the picture, featuring a drawing of three-year-old Sasha Dawson and her mum.
Dawson was pronounced dead after being rushed to hospital in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Ms Dawson’s family visited the Martin Place memorial, which continues to grow daily, on Thursday. They walked slowly around the site, stopping to read the moving note from Sasha.
Family members of Lindt Chocolate Café manager Tori Johnson, who died after sustaining gunshot wounds during the siege have also visited the memorial twice. Tori’s father Ken Johnson organised to visit the memorial with Muslim, Christian, Hindu and Jewish leaders yesterday as a sign of solidarity.
“I want to show solidarity. I want to demonstrate that there can be peace in the world. My son has paved the way for that and I want to make sure I continue it,” Mr Johnson said.
A few of the 18 hostages who were held up during the siege have also returned to pay their tributes.
