She might be revelling her recent Screen Actors Guild nomination, but Knightley is also celebrating the fact that she’s pregnant with her first child, according to multiple sources.
The 29-year-old actress – who is married to singer James Righton of British band the Klaxons – has been steering clear of alcohol, avoiding the free-flowing champagne at Sunday’s Moet British Independent Spirit Awards.
It’s a great time in the Knighley’s life, having just been nominated for Best Supporting Actress SAG award for her role as a codebreaker in The Imitation Game opposite Benedict Cumberbatch, placing her in good stead for an Oscar nod.
Knightley has spoken about wanting children in the past, claiming she would continue working when the day arrived.
“Would I want to be a stay-at-home mother? No,” she told Vogue in 2013. “On the other hand, you should be allowed to do that, as should men, without being sneered at.”
