As you walked into the Elie Saab collection a sound track of waves crashing took you immediately to the sea, and all things beachside.
The Spring/Summer 2015 collection was inspired by the underwater world, using a tropical palette of greens and blues, coral, yellows as well as timeless black and white, all inspired by Italy’s Amalfi coast.
Fabrics looked as if they had been dunked into the pristine Mediterranean shores, sparkling, with prints that resembled sun dappled water.
Embroidery (a major theme in most collections this season), was used seamlessly around the body.
An almost graphic cut and seventies feel to gowns and separates gave the collection a fluid feel, with accessories accenting all things ‘under the sea’.
Bags as well as sandals, both heeled and flat, mimic exotic fish in colouring and glorify the underwater kingdom.
