The Treatment
Lancôme’s latest on-counter offering, the Parisienne Glow Service, promises to enhance skin radiance for seven days in just ten minutes. To do just that, cutting-edge technology –the Lancôme Pro Radiance Booster – boosts the effectiveness of all-time skincare favourite, Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Serum.
Through a special massage technique and 3 million incredibly gentle ultrasound vibrations, the Pro Radiance Booster gadget increases the penetration of Advanced Génifique. Three different types of ultrasound waves work in unique ways to increase absorption of the formulation, smooth lines, plump and firm the skin, and activate the natural regeneration of skin cells.
And it wouldn’t be a visit to a Lancôme’s counter without a quick touch-up using some of the French beauty house’s most-loved make-up essentials. The Parisienne Glow Service includes a five-minute touch-up service to finish off the luxurious on-counter experience. You’ll step outside with glowing skin, perfectly matched foundation, a pop of lipstick, a slick of lash-lengthening mascara and a spritz of fragrance.
The Verdict
The Parisienne Glow Service couldn’t have arrived at a better time. It’s deadline week at work, so not only is it difficult to fit a lengthy facial into my schedule. My skin has been a little neglected and is in need of some pampering. While I love a good hour-long facial, it’s not always possible to squeeze them into my busy day-to-day routine. Besides, who doesn’t love a beauty shortcut that delivers serious results? If I can get healthy, glowing skin in a fraction of the time all I need to know is where to sign up. Fortunately signing up is easy as the Parisienne Glow service is available now at selected Lancôme counters nationwide.
Not only is the service speedy enough to squeeze in on a lunch break, it uses one of the icons of the skincare world, Advanced Génifique. The great thing about Advanced Génifique is that it works on all skin types and is suitable for all ages. Powered by probiotics, the lightweight formula is absorbed quickly and always leaves skin looking more radiant and feeling smoother and softer. The Parisienne Glow service uses not one but six to eight pipettes of Advanced Génifique so I’m already excited about the results.
I head to Smith & Caughey’s Queen Street to put the service through its paces. My skin is thoroughly cleansed and all make-up is removed before Advanced Génifique is applied. Normally you might use one maybe two pipettes of Génifique at home, but the service uses a generous six to eight pipettes to ensure skin is thoroughly nourished and hydrated. The Pro Radiance Booster tools are then used to massage the formulation into my skin. Eva Jacobs, my lovely Lancôme beauty expert, tells me I might feel a slight buzzing sensation as the gadgets work their magic but the very gentle ultrasound waves are barely noticeable. Jacobs explains that a special massage technique works alongside Advanced Génifique to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles.
Ten minutes, I soon discover, is enough time to feel both pampered and get glowing skin. My complexion looks and feels nourished and hydrated and I’d feel confident leaving the Lancôme counter with a foundation-free face. But I’ve got a full day ahead of me and the opportunity to have some of Lancome’s make-up must-haves applied by expert hands is too good to resist. When the end of the week arrives, my skin is still glowing and looks healthier. And I’ve been using the make-up tips I took away from the touch-up service.
