The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are reportedly planning a visit to Australia where they will tour fire-ravaged communities.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, preliminary negotiations between the Morrison Government and Kensington Palace have been under way for weeks.

It’s not yet known which towns William and Catherine will visit.

It’s believed Prime Minister Scott Morrison will formally write to the Palace with a proposed programme later this week.

It will be the first time the couple has visited Australia since 2014, when they travelled the country with son George when he was a baby.

The Duke and Duchess have expressed their condolences to the people affected by the bushfires a number of times via social media.

Most recently, they paid tribute to “the incredible strength and resilience of all the Australian people and communities who have been impacted by the devastation bushfires” on Australia Day.
