Ed Sheeran has cleared up rumours that he may play at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding next year, saying nothing is confirmed at this point.
“I feel like all Americans ask English people like, ‘Hey, do you know the queen?’ And like, well I have met her, that is quite a true fact, but I don’t know Harry that well,” the 26-year-old singer-songwriter told ET.
“I get asked this all the time like I know the Royal family. I’ve met Harry once!” he laughs. “[And] that was in 2011 at his grans’ Jubilee, and it was like, ‘Hey.’ ‘Hey’… I barely know him!”
Sheeran added that he would probably perform at the royal wedding “if I was free”, but isn’t expecting a request.
