British fashion designer Stella McCartney is launching a new skincare line, to be known as Stella.
16 years after McCartney lead the clean beauty revolution with her original organic skincare line, then known as Care by Stella McCartney, the designer is trying again. This time, it’s with a small naturally-derived collection created in collaboration with minority partners LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton.
According to WWD.com the clean, green collection is set to include just three products at launch, a cleanser, serum and cream.
“I am not that person who wants to buy into a million products for different areas of my face. I don’t want all of that stuff in my life,” McCartney told WWD.
“I want less, and I want it to work. I want it to be honest and to complement my way of thinking, and of living life. I obviously wanted to do the cleanest skin care that we could do in luxury, the purest of the pure,” she said.
Each offers sustainable elements like refillable packaging and includes some upcycled ingredients like squalene, a byproduct of the olive oil industry. Naturally for the outspoken animal rights activist and proud vegan, the line is also cruelty-free, certified vegan and regulated.
The range has reportedly taken over three years to perfect and includes a fresh, grassy scent developed by the perfumer Francis Kurkdjian. Clove leaf, pine resin and mentholated eucalyptus are said to be the chief notes.
The new line will be direct-to-consumer, and launches this month on stellamccartneybeauty.com
