Australian actress and singer Natalie Imbruglia is pregnant with her first child with help from IVF and a sperm donor.

“Torn” singer Natalie Imbruglia has described the news as a ‘miracle’ as the 44-year-old shared a snap of her blossoming baby bump on Instagram.

She’s set for a bumper year as she revealed in the same post she’s also signed a new record deal.

Natalie wrote: “I’m very happy to announce that I have just signed a record deal with BMG!! What an AMAZING team. I have been busy writing for the past year and a half and can’t wait to share these new songs with you all!!!! And as you can see from the pic.. there is another announcement… (no I haven’t swallowed a watermelon).

“For those of you who know me, this has been something I have wanted for a very long time,” Imbruglia wrote on social media. “I’m blessed that this is possible with the help of IVF (in vitro fertilisation) and a sperm donor,” the singer continued.

Opening up about having children in 2015, she said: “I want children, that’s something that’s important to me. But there aren’t any men around, so that bit needs to be sorted first.

Natalie divorced Silverchair rocker Daniel Johns in 2008, after almost five years of marriage, and was previously romantically linked to Friends star David Schwimmer.

“I was career-focused from such a young age and wanted to conquer the world, but now I just want to be happy.”

Many of the mom-to-be’s pals chimed in on the comments to wish her well, including Spice Girls member Melanie “Mel C” Chisholm who wrote, “Congratulations my love! Wonderful news all round.”

Imbruglia, who starred on Neighbours in the ’90s, later attempted to return to acting, making her feature debut in Rowan Atkinson’s 2003’s Bond spoof Johnny English and appearing as a judge on the X Factor in 2010.
