This week, other royal families from around the world have begun sharing their official Christmas portraits.
It has been a big year for the Spanish royal family, with Princess Leonor swearing allegiance to the Spanish constitution. For this year’s Christmas card, the Spanish royal family shared a lovely photograph captured at Princess Leonor’s 18th birthday party.
The inscription on the card reads, “Christmas greetings from Their Majesties the King and Queen, Her Royal Highness the Princess of Asturias and Her Royal Highness the Infanta Doña Sofía.”
A more traditional take on the royal Christmas portrait was shared Prince Albert and Princess Charlene of Monaco. The couple are joined by their young children Crown Prince Jacques and his twin sister, Princess Gabriella, who both celebrated their ninth birthday last week.
For those who missed the British royal family portrait, here is the black and white portrait, a departure from previous years where the family have been photographed in the outdoors.
Continuing in the U.K., King Charles and Queen Camilla shared their very first Christmas card as leaders of the monarchy.
This year, they chose a portrait by photographer Hugo Burnand taken in the Throne Room of Buckingham Palace following their coronation on May 6.
