Ripe, The Wanaka Wine and Food Festival is right around the corner! A delicious showcase of Central Otago’s fine food and drink, the annual festival will be taking place on Saturday, 18 March at the beautiful Glendhu Station.
With the backdrop of panoramic lake and mountain views, visitors will get the chance to sample some of New Zealand’s best wines from the likes of Akarua, Amisfield, Cloudy Bay, Gibbston Valley, Misha’s Vineyard, Mount Michael Wines and more.
There’s plenty to tempt your tastebuds on the foodie front, with local chefs serving up everything from woodfired pizza and French crêpes to seafood feasts and the all-important cheese boards to match the wines.
Fascinating talks and interactive events can be found at the festival’s various tents. Head along to the Quartz Reef Masterclass Marquee to watch a cooking demo by Christchurch’s Two Raw Sisters and hear expert insights from wine aficionados Joelle Thomson and Master of Wine Bob Campbell. The Maude VIP tent will be serving up a pampering experience, with complimentary wine and tasty canapes.
“We can’t wait to showcase the world-class Central Otago Wine and Food producers surrounded by the majestic scenery of Lake Wānaka to our guests coming from near and far,” says event organiser Nathan White.
