Gucci opened Milan Fashion Week with a bold and quirky collection that sang of confidence and creativity. Designer Alessandro Michele blended futuristic metallic tones with retro prints and sparkling embellishments turning to friend Sir Elton John as his muse throughout the collection. Rock-glam came alive on the catwalk as strong shoulder detailing, frills and glitter stole the show, while candy colours of orange, pink and fuchsia asserted themselves as the palette of the season.
For the child-at-heart, Disney-inspired prints flaunting Snow White and Bugs Bunny take the cake, but if simple style is more your thing, Gucci’s SS18 collection covers that too; tailored suiting, crew-neck sweaters and silky slips made multiple appearances.
