It it wasn’t already apparent, it is now crystal clear that Prince Harry’s bride-to-be has won the hearts of the public. Meghan Markle and her fiance arrived in Cardiff, Wales for their third official engagement together to huge crowds of people waving flags and cheering.
Meghan appeared genuinely thrilled and touched by the turnout, taking her time to shake hands and talk with people in the crowd, both young and old. The newly-engaged couple began their trip by touring the historic Cardiff Castle, where they listened to musicians and poets perform before partaking in a Welsh Cultural Festival.
The couple then visited a local school where Meghan joined in on a game of Jenga and they watched a group of school children perform a dance. Upon leaving, a smiling Meghan was enveloped in a group hug by the children.
Prince Harry and Meghan then moved on to Star Hub, a community leisure centre using sport to aid social development in youth. They watched a group of schoolgirls participate in the UsGirls sports project, who were excited about meeting the royals. “She was amazing, so easy to talk to,” 13-year-old Mary Coffey told The Daily Mail. “And so beautiful! There was a glow about her.”
Meghan, who was dressed in an elegant black coat by Stella McCartney, broke royal protocol when she wrote a note in one of the girl’s notebook. The American actress wrote “Hi Kaitlin” with a heart and a smiley face, showing her commitment to the public.
