Britain’s Queen Elizabeth and Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, arrived in the English county of Cheshire on Thursday for their first official joint royal trip without Markle’s new husband, Prince Harry.
The two seemed to be getting on famously, as images show Meghan Markle giggling and whispering into the Queen’s ear while watching a children’s performance at the opening of a new bridge across the River Mersey in Widnes, the Daily Mail reports.
“Today is the opportunity for Meghan to receive a masterclass from the Queen in how to conduct royal engagements. It was around ten months after her own nuptials before the Duchess of Cambridge undertook a similar day of events – and will no doubt be viewed as a sign of royal confidence in the former actress,” the Daily Mail suggests.
Queen Elizabeth and Markle seem to already have a winning relationship, last month the Queen invited Markle to join her on her royal train for their official engagements.
The Former Suits star wore yet another creation by her wedding designer Givenchy for the visit. The Duchess looked stylish in a cream fitted dress, taken in at the waist with a black belt.
“And in another sign of her growing friendship with the Queen, Prince Harry’s wife sported a pair of delicate pearl earrings, given to her by the monarch as a gift,” the Daily Mail reports.
Meanwhile, her Majesty looked vibrant as ever in a lime green ensemble.
