Makeup icon Bobbi Brown shares a day of her life in our May issue. Here she tells us why she’s so excited about her latest Pretty Powerful Campaign for Women & Girls.

This year, we launched Pretty Powerful Mascara in the US, UK, Korea and South Africa, and every cent of the retail price of the mascara will be donated to organizations that are aligned with the campaign’s mission.

In the US, we are partnering with Girl Rising, a fund that helps remove barriers to education that many girls face in the developing world by providing necessary resources to girl-empowerment programs. We received great feedback from all the attendees and I’m grateful for their support in making this year’s campaign a huge success.

During our The Pretty Powerful Campaign for Women & Girls event, we shared some important statistics about women and girl’s around the world, including that over 66 million girls are missing from classrooms.

It’s figures like these that inspire me to help empower women and girls and make the world a better place – whether it’s by teaching women how to a correctly apply makeup to help look professional for a job interview or raising funds for The Girl Rising Fund to drive resources to effective girl-empowerment programs in the developing world.

I truly believe that nothing makes a woman or girl feel more confident than being educated and having the knowledge and skills to better her life.
