Trolls using Twitter will now think twice before taking on best selling author JK Rowling.
The author of Harry Potter has been a target of online abuse on Twitter following Britain’s general election result.
Rowling, who has previously donated money to Labour, was called a “traitor to Scotland” and “Blairite scum”.
In a war of words Rowling’s response to one Twitter troll, who has subsequently deleted their tweet, she wrote “The Internet doesn’t just offer opportunities for misogynistic abuse, you know. Penis enlargers can also be bought discreetly”.
Twitter supporters from around the world responded by inviting her to relocate to their country. “I’ve been invited to relocate to France, Ireland and Brazil!” Rowling tweeted. “I’ve got to be honest, if I’m leaving Scotland, the climate is something I probably wouldn’t want to replicate first!”
One follower wrote “@jk_rowling it must be fun having thousands of people begging you to live in their country”. Rowling replied “It’s making me tearful. I’m always like this. Bullying never makes me cry, then people are lovely and I bawl.”
