Halloween Ends is the 13th and final instalment of the Halloween film franchise, due for release this October.

Jamie Lee Curtis stars in the film – a bittersweet experience for her which she says was “deeply emotional and cathartic” – as she made her film debut in the first Halloween film in 1978, playing the role of Laurie Strode, the only central character in the film who is not killed. Curtis was subsequently cast in several horror films, earning her the title of a “scream queen”.

Halloween Ends wrapped filming in February 2022, with Curtis calling the final day of production “bittersweet” in an Instagram post. “I’ve made great friends and have collaborated with wonderful artists on these three movies and today my part in the film has been completed and with it the END for me of this trilogy,” Curtis continued. “I love this crew and cast and I will miss you all. We can’t wait for the fans to see the movie.”

The story starts four years after the traumatic events of Halloween 2018. The nightmare ends as Laurie Strode comes face to face with Michael Myers, once and for all.

The American slasher media franchise consists of the films, as well as comic books, video games and other merchandise. The film series is ranked first at the United States box office compared to other American horror film franchises.
