MiNDFOOD’s editor-in-chief Michael McHugh travelled to Austria to visit a Salzburg-family run company, Nagy, with a 130-year-old tradition of hand-making gingerbread and learned how to create their iconic edible houses for Christmas.

The company makes over 60 varieties of gingerbread. Biscuit shapes include hearts and stars, Christmas trees and gingerbread men. The treats are cooked to browned and chewy perfection in custom-made ovens then transferred to drying racks, iced and packed.
