Heartbroken Friends of Matthew Perry Share Their Tributes to the Star

The news of Matthew Perry's passing sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and touched the hearts of millions of fans who had grown up watching him as Chandler Bing on 'Friends.'

He was not only an immensely talented actor but also a source of laughter and joy for so many.

In his 54 years he touched many hearts and the entertainment industry has been awash with tributes to the star. 

In a joint statement, the co-creators of ‘Friends’ Marta Kauffman and David Crane, along with director Kevin Bright, expressed their fond memories and appreciation for the beloved actor.

They remembered Perry for his “blinding intelligence” and noted that he was always “the funniest person in the room.” 

‘We are shocked and deeply, deeply saddened by our beloved friend Matthew’s passing,’ they said in a statement given to Deadline. ‘It still seems impossible.’

‘All we can say is that we feel blessed to have had him as part of our lives.

Hollywood loved the funnyman from Massachusetts

Matthew Perry wooed some of Hollywood’s most beautiful women, including Julia Roberts and Yasmine Bleeth. 

Former flame Gwenyth Paltrow shared reminisced on her summer spent with the star. 

‘I met Matthew Perry in 1993 at the Williamstown Theater Festival in Massachusetts,’ she recalled. ‘We were both there for most of the summer doing plays.’

‘We drove out to swim in creeks, had beers in the local college bar, kissed in a field of long grass,’ she revealed, adding, ‘It was a magical summer.’

During her Las Vegas performance, Adele paused to honour the late Matthew Perry, lauding his remarkable courage. In a heartfelt moment, she shared, “He was incredibly, incredibly brave.”

Friends for Life 

For the cast of ‘Friends’, Perry is the first of the six core cast members to pass away. 

Lisa Kudrow, who played Phoebe in the iconic comedy said his death at just 54 did not seem real to ‘any of the gang’. The star promised would attend his funeral, and might even adopt his dog. 

While the other four stars of the show are yet to make a statement, co-star Maggie Wheeler, who portrayed her character, Janice Litman-Goralnik in the show has. 

‘What a loss. The world will miss you Mathew Perry,’ she captioned the image, which showed her looking at him adoringly, both in character. She continued: ‘The joy you brought to so many in your too short lifetime will live on. I feel so very blessed by every creative moment we shared. ♥️’
