It comes as streaming giant Netflix releases its viewing figures for The Crown for the first time.
The figures reveal a total of 73 million households worldwide have watched the show since it began in 2016.
The third season was watched in 21 million homes in its first four weeks, which is 40 per cent more than saw the second season over the same time period.
The third season, which premiered on Netflix in November, had a new cast to portray the ageing members of the British monarchy, with Oscar-winning actress Olivia Colman replacing Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth II.
The season 3 cast won a Screen Actors Guild award this year for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
