While the previous couple of year’s have been relatively quiet where red carpets are concerned, 2022 proved they were back.
With them, the glitz, glamour and gossip that keep news cycles turning.
But this year’s beauty moments weren’t just about big events. Social media is still the place to display your beauty and trend nous, and many red carpet moments were aired on Instagram before the star had even left their hotel en route.
Some moments spawned unlikely beauty trends – think Julia Fox’s exaggerated eyeliner – while some – Hailey Bieber’s repetitive ‘glazed’ skin – were engineered to sell product.
J Lo gets married
Jennifer Lopez’ hair this year (and every year) could have inspired a story all of its own. But in terms of highlights, J Lo’s simple and classic look for her surprise midnight Las Vegas wedding to Ben Affleck was top of the list in our books. The half-up do was paired with an Alexander McQueen dress the star revealed she had been ‘saving for so many years’.

It might be a little far to say this is revenge dressing at its finest, but Florence Pugh rising above the surrounding drama of the Don’t Worry Darling premiere in Venice with several stunning looks certainly made our jaws drop.
