While the last few months have been testing for Princess Mary, her grounded Tasmanian upbringing has put her in good stead to lead Denmark as Queen. 

Denmark’s Queen Margrethe II announced her intention to abdicate on January 14. 

And so, Princess Mary is now the Queen of Denmark, alongside her husband, the King of Denmark.
