The 2017 World’s 50 Best Bar Awards have announced their winners, and two Australian bars have made it onto the list.
Melbourne’s Black Pearl placed 22nd on the list and received the title of Best Bar in Australasia as well as Legend of the List for making it onto the list since the award’s origins nine years ago. The Black Pearl has been around for sixteen years.
Moving across cites, Sydney’s Baxter Inn ranked 45th on the list. The popular bar has a whiskey library containing more than 630 rare whiskeys. It is known by locals for serving Old Fashioneds on tap.
The overall winner was American Bar at London’s Savoy Hotel, and London also had more entries than any other city. Despite this, North America boasts the most bars on the list, with 13 in total – 7 of which are in New York.
