Grande opened her performance with ‘Once Upon a Dream’ from Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, a nod to this year’s Gala theme ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’.

A highlight of the performance was when Grande welcomed Erivo onstage. Together they sang ‘When You Believe’ by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey.

The performers star together in the upcoming film adaptation of Wicked, with Erivo portraying Elphaba and Grande playing Glinda.
Their duet came after the pair walked the green carpet together hand in hand. Grande wore a mother-of-pearl gown by Jonathan Anderson for Loewe, while Erivo arrived in a two-piece gown with flower petal details by Thom Browne.
