A Parisian escape: Inside the issue STYLE Autumn 24
Cool down and curl up as STYLE's Autumn issue arrives. The new magazine revels in the best fashion, accessory and beauty finds of the season as well as delving into the best of Paris, the City of Light.

Whether you’re pondering a European jaunt (or hitting the city for the imminent summer Olympics) or simply seeking to be transported via fashion and design inspiration, join us as we open the doors to the lesser-known side of Paris. We meet the city’s cutting-edge creatives and explore captivating interiors, exhibitions and must-visit spots to shop.

There’s never need a better time to plan a visit, says STYLE Editor-In-Chief Michael McHugh.

“There is much to enjoy from local neighbourhood food and antique markets, iconic department stores, art galleries and museums and those perfect little out of the way dining spots you discover that only the locals are aware of,” shares McHugh of the city’s enduring and ever-evolving appeal.

“I keep coming back finding new things to discover and have never been disappointed,” he says.

Up the front of the mag, The Edit keeps you up with all the latest stylish happenings and fashion news back home and around the world.

Paris inspiration

Cover star Léa Seydoux certainly captures the spirit of her home city, the 37-year-old having been born in Paris. We meet the stunning actress and learn more about her unique career path, including part in new film Dune: Part Two, as well as an effortless sense of style she describes as ‘a blend of feminine, but with a touch of masculinity.’

Get to know 11 of the most inventive and stylish Paris design and style creatives, from ceramicist Agnès Debizet whose pieces take inspiration from antique civilisations and the natural world, to ‘multi-disciplinary and polymath entrepreneur’ Ramdane Touhami, who seems to have his fingers in pies all over the city. Touhami is not only responsible for revamping historic French beauty brands Cire Trudon and Officine Universelle Buly 1803 but also creating cool, quirky hotel interiors, designing wooden furniture, hosting podcasts and starting a publishing company. The feature on his interior of art direction agency, Art Recherche Industrie, set within a19th-century restaurant and club in Paris’ 10th arrondissement, has to be seen to be believed.

Interiors and exceptional design

Take a wander through some of the city’s best apartments created by select Paris interior designers, from a monochomatic and sleek inner-city dwelling to a refined, renovated space that beautifully twines heritage fixtures with modern furnishings – think a wealth of soft, warm wood and marble.

Pierre Frey, Communications Director at Parisian fine fabric and home textiles brand Maison Pierre Frey, fittingly brings a jolt of unexpected colour and pattern to the mix with a feature on he and wife Émilie’s home, situated above the brand’s headquarters near the Palais Royale.

Revel in rugging up in soft and luxurious textures with an interiors and design editorial that serves to create your very own luxury boutique hotel look-and-feel at home this season with the latest fabrics and furnishings.

Beauty

Autumn’s beauty inspiration comes in the form of the ‘Lustre For Life’ feature, all warm and rich hues and a touch of gilt glam. Find all you need from makeup must-haves to seasonal skincare and rich, captivating fragrance to update your beauty routine. Learn too, about the inescapable haircut that will dominate trends this season and beyond.

Fashion

Fashion’s ‘Ship to shore’ feature delights in a capsule wardrobe of the season’s hottest pieces, for a getaway that covers all bases from pool lounging to sightseeing and dinner and drinks on deck.

Meet Kiwi shoe designer Nicole Rebstock who is bringing a fresh new take on footwear to the local scene, from hip two-tone loafers to chic and comfortable pointed-toe pumps.

Concierge

Finally, the Concierge section is where you’ll really map out a holiday itinerary as we report on the very best places to stay, shop, eat and drink in Paris, with a must-keep guide. It covers everything from the freshest pastries and finest restaurants to vintage clothing  and unmissable spots indoors and outdoors to explore.
