NSW Premier Chris Minns says the state is experiencing a “significant weather event”.
“It is most important that you don’t take unnecessary risks at the moment, particularly travelling through flood waters,” he said.
The premier described the weather as a “volatile event” and urged affected residents to stay up to date with the latest information.
“If we can communicate that quickly to the people of NSW, we can minimise danger to people in particular,” he said.
“It requires everybody being alert, particularly in the next 24 to 48 hours.”
Why is it raining so much in #NSW?
It's all to do with the interaction between different weather events occurring in different levels of the atmosphere at the same time.
