Mean Girls is back in 2024! First Look at the New Movie

Tina Fey, the queen of comedy, is back, and she’s bringing the Plastics with her! The first official trailer for the highly-anticipated Mean Girls movie, set to hit cinemas in January 2024, is here, and it’s filled with nostalgic nods to the iconic 2004 original.

Fans of the OG flick will be thrilled to see familiar scenes like The Plastics’ Christmas talent show, the iconic prom, and the legendary Halloween party. It’s a trip down memory lane that will make you want to break out your old Burn Book.

But wait, this isn’t your mother’s Mean Girls! The trailer makes it clear that this is not a simple copy-and-paste job of the original. Instead, it’s an adaptation of the Tony-nominated ‘Mean Girls’ Broadway musical. So, expect a fresh twist on the beloved classic.

While it’s a musical, the trailer doesn’t feature any of the music from the Broadway show, except for Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Get Him Back!’. It’s a bit suspicious, but we can’t help but wonder if they’re just teasing us with the tunes.

One thing’s for sure: this new ‘Mean Girls’ promises a modern take on the familiar story. With the incredibly talented Renée Rapp, who originally slayed the role of Regina George on Broadway, making her big-screen debut, you can bet it’s going to be totally grool!

So, start planning your fetchest outfit and get ready to hit the cinemas in January 2024. You definitely don’t want to miss this next chapter in the Mean Girls saga!
