How to master colour blocking this winter
Forgo dark and moody colour palettes this winter and reach for vibrant hues instead.

The arrival of cooler temperatures often signals a departure of out-there colour from our wardrobes. And while shades of deep navy and slate grey often dominate the winter months, that doesn’t have to be the case.

Mix and Match Vibrant Shades

When it comes to colour blocking it pays to forget everything you thought you knew about pairing certain colours together.

Some rules are just made to be broken, so if it’s bright and bold, anything goes – especially red and pink.

Play With Pastel Shades

If you’ve said no to pastel hues in the past because they’re too girly – think again, saccharine shades don’t have to be ultra-feminine.

Give soft sherbet colours such a mint green and soft shades of lilac an edge by veering away from feminine silhouettes and opting for tailored pieces such as oversized blazers and coats. Or try teaming the soft colour palette with unexpected hues such as burgundy.
