2020 – A year full of new possibilities
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrated the New Year with baby Archie in Canada.
To mark the end of 2019, the couple shared a video on their @SussexRoyal Instagram page featuring highlights from their year. Snippets included their first family royal tour to Africa, Archie’s Christening and Harry and Meghan’s work with various charities.
The post caption read, “Wishing you all a very Happy New Year and thanking you for your continued support! We’ve loved meeting so many of you from around the world and can’t wait to meet many more of you next year. We hope 2020 brings each of you health and continued happiness.”

Harry and Meghan reveal details of their new charitable foundation
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed plans for the foundation that will replace their Sussex Royal brand.
According to Britain’s Daily Telegraph newspaper, the couple is launching a new charitable organisation to be named Archewell.
The name includes the Greek word Arche, meaning ‘source of action’, which Harry and Meghan have revealed was the inspiration behind naming their son Archie.
According to the Telegraph, more details about the organisation will be released “when the time is right”, with an announcement being delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“Like you, our focus is on supporting efforts to tackle the global COVID-19 pandemic but faced with this information coming to light, we felt compelled to share the story of how this came to be,” Harry and Meghan said in a statement to the newspaper.
Meghan takes legal action
The Duchess is suing The Mail on Sunday for alleged invasion of privacy, breach of copyright and misuse of personal data, over the publication of a letter she wrote to her father in 2018.
Meghan claims the letter was edited by the tabloid to portray her “negatively”.
The Mail on Sunday’s parent company Associated Newspapers denies the allegations, particularly the claim that the letter was edited to change its meaning.
Paperwork filed by Meghan’s legal team says the Duchess is prepared to reveal details of royal public funding in order to dispute The Mail on Sunday’s description of her “immense wealth and privilege”.
Happy First Birthday, Archie!

The video was shared on the Save the Children UK Instagram page as part of a celebrity-backed fundraising campaign launched in the US by Hollywood star Jennifer Garner, who is friends with Meghan.
