Boh Runga’s Moisture Mist moment

By Milly Nolan

Boh Runga launches her new jewellery collection and the limited edition compact she designed for Moisture Mist, and I was there to witness it, blog on MiNDFOOD.

I recently attended a launch to celebrate the collaboration between Moisture Mist and Boh Runga. The Kiwi-born, Los Angeles-based singer and jewellery designer was there to unveil both her new jewellery collection, named The Lotus and The Snowbird and the limited edition compact that she had designed for Moisture Mist’s number one selling foundation, Beauty Cake.

The inspiration for both designs was a fable that Runga had written herself about a Lotus who dreams of adventure and a mysterious traveller, the Snowbird, who swoops upon the Lotus’s garden and offers to take the Lotus on a neverending journey to show her the world.

Runga’s wonderful reading ability and beautiful voice had us all lulled into silence, taking us back to our childhood when fairytales were read before bedtime.

The pale blue compact that Runga has designed for the Beauty Cake is a move away from the iconic red case that Kiwis have become to know so well.

Both the covetable jewellery collection (from RRP $119) and the limited edition Beauty Cake (RRP $39) will be on sale mid-October.
