The event featured a farmers and artisans market (I walked away with some lovely local aged cheese from Willowbrae), followed by a Farmers Feast traditional Italian lunch.
The venue prides itself on getting its supplies and produce from nearby sources and aims to introduce visitors to this unique region of Australia through its food.
After perusing the market stalls, the afternoon began with refreshing summer cocktails from Double Shot Bartending, including mojitos, a watermelon gin fizz, and The Lucia (recipe below).
Nibbles, such as prosciutto-wrapped breadsticks and fried stuffed olives made the rounds.
Lunch in the trattoria was served family-style, complete with antipasto, fresh pasta, and some lovely slow-cooked meats.
In addition to the trattoria, 42 Bannerman hosts bimonthly markets, holds seasonal events and private functions, and presents special menus.
