The Duchess of Sussex – formally Meghan Markle – made an official visit to London’s National Theatre for the first time since becoming its royal patron.

Mum-to-be, Duchess Meghan looked simply beautiful in blush on Wednesday as she paid a visit to the National Theatre in London in her capacity as its new royal patron.

The former Suits star went back to her theatrical roots, looking on as attendees from across the city participated in a workshop, according to Kensington Palace.

The Queen passed on this Royal Patronage to The Duchess, after serving as Patron for over 40 years.

“The National Theatre aims to reach the widest possible audience and to be as inclusive, diverse and national as possible with a broad range of productions that play in London, on tour around the UK, on Broadway and across the globe,” according to Kensington Palace.

The Duchess wore a stunning Brandon Maxwell V-neck blush pink dress and paired it with a matching blazer by the same designer. As part of her new role, Duchess Meghan will give the charities vital publicity and help gain recognition for their work.

During the visit, the royal spoke with director Rufus Norris and watched members of the Pericles company take part in a workshop. She took time out to chat with Blessing, aged 13, who is passionate about inspiring others through storytelling — her National Theatre Public Acts experience as part of the cast of Pericles has allowed her to “discover more about what she could do and gain more confidence.”

The Theatre’s apprenticeship scheme was launched in 2011, which combines studying for formal qualifications alongside practical training.
