The insiders’ guide to must-visit restaurants in Italy
With the headquarters for many of her suppliers situated in Italy, Orsini Fine Jewellery director Sarah Hutchings regularly makes trips to the country.

Ahead of her recent European travels, she asked insiders from top jewellery brands for the best places to eat in the various cities she was heading to.

See their suggestions below, so that you can eat like a local next time you’re lucky enough to travel around Italy.

Milan

Langosteria

There’s not just one but four Langosteria restaurants in Milan. Langosteria in via Savona is the flagship restaurant of the group, founded in 2007 in the city. It’s a must-visit for exquisite fine dining and a celebration of seafood.

La Briciola

Ristorante La Briciola is a Milan institution and promises a refined and elegant dining experience with courteous service, excellent Mediterranean cuisine and fantastic wine.

DaV Milano

DaV Milano by Da Vittorio is the new casual dining offering from the renowned Cerea family, serving a mix of traditional and innovative dishes among stylish, modern interiors with views to the city’s skyscrapers.

Al Garghet

You’ll fall in love with this rustic restaurant when you dine on the garden terrace. Located in an old farm house on the outskirts of the city, head here to enjoy classic dishes from Lombardy and to get away from it all.

Il Salumaio di Montenapoleone

Established in 1957, this is the place to visit for an elegant atmosphere and upscale Italian cuisine. Dining in the beautiful Renaissance courtyard is a must!

Rome

Matricianella

A family-owned restaurant with a cosy ambiance that doesn’t attract hordes of tourists and serves authentic cuisine.

Due Ladroni

Indulge in classic Roman dishes in the heart of the city at this restaurant which celebrates tradition through sophisticated delicacies and fine wine.

Felice a Testaccio

Known for its Cacio e Pepe, this Michelin-rated restaurant serves up authentic, traditional Roman cuisine at its finest.

Enoteca La Torre

Crichelon

Crichelon is a hotel, restaurant and residence surrounded by the tranquillity of nature. With stunning views to the Berici Hills, eating at the restaurant in spring and summer is a treat, when you can sit on the terrace in the middle of the vineyard.

Boasting a breathtaking view of Vicenza, Ristorante Da Biasio is a fine-dining destination presenting Italian cuisine at its most refined.

Trattoria Da Berno

Founded in 1890, Da Berno has a welcoming atmosphere and offers fare that fuses the cuisines of Vicenza and the Veneto region.

Ristorante Maltraversi

Whether eating in the restaurant, the oyster bar or getting food to take away, this is the place to head for fantastic seafood.

Trattoria Da Cirillo
