Said to be one of the biggest meteor showers of 2020, the Eta Aquarids is active between 19 April and 28 May, with its peak between 5 – 6 May.
Named after the brightest star in the Aquaris constellation, Eta Aquarii, the meteor shower occurs when the Earth passes through the Halley Comet’s path.
The next meteor shower from the comet is the Orionid, which peaks around 20 October. After that, the meteor showers won’t be visible again until 2061.
Supposedly the best time to see the shower is an hour or two before dawn. If you miss it tonight, you have another chance to see it tomorrow.
