Quentin Tarantino has abandoned ‘The Movie Critic’, which was set to be his 10th and final film.

According to Deadline, the auteur “simply changed his mind”. He has reportedly gone back to the drawing board to find something suitable to be his final feature.

Brad Pitt was set to star in the film in a lead role. It was rumoured Pitt would play a role similar to his Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood character, stuntman Cliff Booth.

It would have been Tarantino’s third collaboration with the actor, following Once Upon a Time and Inglourious Bastards.

The Movie Critic was due to start filming this year, however a rewrite of the script delayed production before Tarantino abandoned the project altogether.

According to Deadline, the film was going to be set in California in 1977, and was “based on a guy who really lived but was never really famous, and he used to write movie reviews for a porno rag”.
