The Royal Family has marked the first anniversary of King Charles III's coronation.

The celebrations in London were low-key, with a 41-gun salute taking place in Green Park next to Buckingham Palace at midday, followed by a 62-shot salute from Tower Wharf an hour later.

Meanwhile the family has marked the occasion on social media, sharing clips from the day including unseen footage.

On this day one year ago, the 360-year-old St Edward’s Crown was placed on Charles’ head as he sat upon a 14th-century throne in Westminster Abbey, witnessed by world leaders and millions of television viewers.

The service, which dates back to the time of King William the Conqueror in 1066, took place over two hours. It was followed by a large military procession as well as a flypast by military aircraft as the king and queen waved from Buckingham Palace.
