During an interview with Vogue, the Anywhere singer discussed her intimate Los Angeles wedding to Taika Waititi in August 2022 and divulged details about choosing her Tom Ford wedding dress.
“Tom Ford is one of my favourite designers of all time and favourite humans in general,” Rita, 32, told the outlet. “He’s now one of my close friends, and I adore and admire him so much. To get married in his dress was a dream come true.”
The Voice Australia judge explained that their wedding had been impromptu, making it challenging to find the perfect dress in time.
“Because it wasn’t planned, I didn’t know if the right dress was even going to be in town, and I just took the risk and went to the Tom Ford shop, and they had it perfectly waiting with the veil, in my size, no alterations needed to be done,” Rita gushed. “I mean, it was like it was meant to be, to be honest. And it just made me so happy.”

Rita wore a dazzling one-sleeve, figure-hugging lace gown adorned with two oversized bows. She completed the look with her honey-toned hair in soft, loose curls and simple jewellery which held a special place in her heart.
“I wore my mum’s pearls that she got married in. My sister, Elena, put (the bracelet) on my wrist. It was beautiful,” the performer said. “My sister walked me down the aisle, and it was just really simple and blissful and calm and private and fun.”
Meanwhile, the Thor: Love and Thunder director, 47, wore a navy Brunello Cucinelli suit.
The pair tied the knot at their Los Angeles home on 4 August 2022, a few weeks after Rita proposed to Taika during a holiday.
They first met at a barbecue in 2018 but didn’t start dating until 2021.
