Fortunately, Reese Witherspoon has come to the rescue and shared her recipe secret green smoothie recipe with her friends.

Last week the actress took to Instagram and revealed the nutritious, health-enhancing ingredients that she pops in her blender every morning. Witherspoon also revealed that the recipe is actually courtesy of her Little Fires Everywhere co-star, Kerry Washington.

According to the Instagram post, Washington shared the recipe with Witherspoon while seated together at an awards ceremony 10 years ago! Washington apparently shared the smoothie recipe after Witherspoon complimented her skin and asked her how she keeps it glowing and healthy. Washington’s answer was the green smoothie.

While the recipe includes plenty of fresh fruit and veggies, in the video Witherspoon encourages her fans to add protein powder, almond butter or flaxseed.

Witherspoon admits that it’s her go-to option for breakfast and it keeps her feeling full until lunchtime. “I know it looks like it tastes gross, but it tastes so good!” she says.

If Reese has been drinking the same nutritious concoction for nine years, it’s got to be tasty!
