While the weather in Tāmaki Makaurau may be a bit miserable right now, Azabu Mission Bay is inviting diners to get into the spirit of spring with a special Japanese festival.
‘Roku Presents Hanami at Azabu Mission Bay’ is a new collaboration with Roku Gin. The restaurant will be transformed into a cherry blossom oasis, as diners enjoy curated tasting menu and cocktails designed to showcase the Japanese crafted gin.
One of Japan’s most iconic traditions, Hanami is a century-old celebration that observes the first blossoming of the sakura flowers, with people gathering in parks and enjoying food and drink to reflect on the past and celebrate new beginnings.
Cocktail highlights include the delightfully spring-inspired Roku Spring Highball with gin, rhubarb liqueur and hibiscus, and an inventive Roku Negroni with gin, Italian bitters, vermouth and sakura.
Embracing the spring spirit even further, diners also have the chance to partake in an exclusive ‘Sip and Paint’ class. Taking place on a Saturday afternoon, you can paint your own sakura blossoms while enjoying Roku cocktails and Azabu delicacies.
Guests who attend Hanami at Azabu Mission Bay also have the chance to win a trip for two to Tokyo worth over $10,000.
