Running until 21 April, this year’s Milan Furniture Fair comprises more than 1,950 exhibitors from 35 countries.
Highlights of this year’s fair include a focus on kitchen and bathroom design, a celebration of 25 years of SaloneSatellite which showcases up-and-coming designers, and a special 15 euro ticket for students.
A cultural offering of installations spread through the pavilions is a notable attraction, aiming to trigger reflections on the future.
This year’s special projects include:
- Interiors by David Lynch. A Thinking Room, a site-specific installation by renowned director David Lynch and curated by Antonio Monda
- Under the Surface, an installation designed and built by Emiliano Ponzi, Accurat and Design Group Italia for the International Bathroom Exhibition
- All You Have Ever Wanted to Know About Food Design in Six Performances, a project exploring the world of food and design at EuroCucina, with contributions from six independent and international food magazines.
Following on from last year’s approach, the 185 brands represented at the fair are arranged in a way that enhances the visitor experience, with exhibitors grouped according to similarities in content.
A new urban layout offers energy saving (both physical and mental) for visitors, with clearer walkways and equal visibility for all exhibitors.
Spaces for cultural insights and rest areas allow guests to slow down and take in everything at the fair at their own pace.
