LUX Light Festival Illuminates Wellington
May will mark this year’s brightest experience in the heart of the capital, as LUX Light Festival illuminates Wellington’s waterfront from Odlins Plaza to Frank Kitts Park with a spectacular display of light art.

LUX invites everyone to become immersed in this captivating celebration of interactive installations and performances. LUX 2018 presents a programme featuring New Zealand premieres from national and international artists who will bring a blend of the world’s most cutting-edge light art, design, and technology to the annual festival.

Te Ao Mārama precinct will return with high impact, contemporary installations created by Māori artists, while Wellington’s waterfront will be transformed by dazzling light displays, the mesmerising waterscreen and glowing divers performing an illuminated underwater dance.

Capital E will be activating Frank Kitts playground with interactive installations and awe-inspiring entertainment for all ages. The waterfront will come to life and step into the future when Massey University’s College of Creative Arts showcases cutting-edge interactive works from their schools of Design, Fine Art, Creative Media Production, and Commercial Music.

Each night there will be a collection of Wellington’s finest food trucks providing cuisines from across the globe and the light-themed treats like glow-in-the-dark gelato are back.

As we welcome winter, wrap up warm and join us to experience the city’s glow.

May 18 – 27, 6pm – 11pm
