In 2002, Louis Vuitton unveiled the iconic Tambour watch, a revolutionary timepiece that captured attention with its distinctive drum-shaped case.
Now, after 21 years of refinement and evolution, the Tambour has undergone another transformation, emerging in a slimmer form that embodies exceptional craftsmanship, casual elegance and fluid lines.
“After twenty years of audacious watchmaking design based on the renowned Tambour shape, and with the same quest for modernity, elegance and functionality that the Maison has been built on for more than 160 years, Louis Vuitton elevates its watch offer with an unprecedented level of sophistication, on each and every element of the new watch,” says Jean Arnault, Watch Director at Louis Vuitton.
The new Tambour collection comprises five exquisite watches, each offering a unique expression of style and sophistication.
The initial steel versions offer two captivating options: a tone-on-tone model with a silver-grey dial or a contrasting deep blue dial.
What sets this collection apart is the introduction of the LFT023, an exclusive movement designed and crafted in collaboration with Le Cercle des Horlogers which integrates Louis Vuitton’s signature codes, including the 22K micro-rotor adorned with an engraved Louis Vuitton pattern.
The Tambour’s iconic round case remains a central element, featuring curved sides and signature design elements such as patronymic 12 letters engraved on the case.
With a thinner case that is 40mm in diameter and 8.3mm thick, the new Tambour watch offers a sleek and unisex design that embraces the natural contours of any wearer’s arm.
One of the standout features of the new Tambour collection is the introduction of an integrated bracelet, a first for Louis Vuitton.
This bracelet strikes a perfect balance between strength and fluidity, with its slim and curved links providing a close and comfortable fit on the wrist, rivalling the supplest leather straps.
Watch enthusiasts and fashion followers can look forward to the official commercial release of the new Tambour collection in September 2023.
