Lonely x Breast Cancer Foundation

By MiNDFOOD

Lonely x Breast Cancer Foundation
Our favourite local lingerie designers, Lonely, have partnered with the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ to promote breast cancer awareness.

Early detection is the best way to cure breast cancer, so to promote awareness Lonely have joined with the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ.

Throughout October, all visitors to Lonely stores and all online purchasers will receive a breast care card, which outlines what you should be looking for and how to conduct a self-exam.  The card is illustrated by local artist Ophelia Mikkelson, who also designed the image for a limited edition t-shirt from which all proceeds are donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ.

Registered nurses from the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ will also make in-store appearances over the month of October to answer any questions and provide information.

To further increase breast cancer awareness, photographer Harry Were has shot a unique Lonely Girls Project. In association with Sweet Louise, the campaign features three women diagnosed with secondary, incurable breast cancer. Natural images of Marian, Maggie and Jo (as below) illuminate their strength and show the beauty of their scars. The project aims to make their struggle visible to a society that has a tendency to turn a blind eye to reality.

Head to lonelylabel.com to shop the special t-shirt, and text GIVE to 2447 donate $3 to Sweet Louise.
